Last weekend was a productive one for CISV Norway: the Fall Meeting (Høstmøte).
It gathers active CISVers from all over the country for a weekend of meetings and interesting sessions, such as one for the people about to start planning their camps, the Board and Chapter Presidents Meeting, or a guest speaker talking about youth participation.
Høstmøte is a very popular weekend, because of the variety of sessions one can attend, and the motivation CISVers get from the weekend is then used back in their chapters, to continuously improve CISV Norway. A lot of ideas are being shared thanks to the amount of people attending (114), who all have different experiences and reasons for being there.
Our job there was to ensure that the logistics were all set before and during the weekend. This meant make the nametags, the program, arrange the rooms, get everything ready for participants to register on arrival, get all the merchandise and materials ready to be taken to the hotel, ... Now we know what it takes to organise a full national weekend's logistics (we were not in charge of content, that is something else we can work on).
Because everything was running smoothly, we got to attend some sessions (and the sauna!!). We saw I am eleven (for which CISV has got a special license!), learned about master suppression techniques and how to react when they are being used, and reflected on CISV's role in light of the recent events and the refugee crisis. The OnBoard project presented the latest version of their game, Athena. They also got the Mosaic of the Year Award, congrats to them! On their side, the Kompaz project showed what they're all about, and made us reflect on how the Global Goal for Sustainable Development can be implemented in CISV.
So on top of learning about the logistics of such a weekend, we had the chance to learn a lot, and be included in the big CISV Norway family!
Thanks to everyone who attended, we are looking forward to seeing you soon!
